Announcing the 5GRL Lab Deputy Chair: Jason Olivieri from Verizon
The 5G Roaming Lab is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Olivieri, Senior Manager Product & Strategy at Verizon, as Deputy Chair. Working closely with the Chair Luc Lamoureux (Reliance JIO), the first VoLTE Roaming Lab Chair makes a comeback to the Labs leadership team to support the development of 5G Roaming.

The aim is to share valuable information and lessons learned from our experience with deploying 5G SA, network slicing and delve deeper into what 5G means for MNO’s. The ongoing work of all the labs and community members is important to the 5G roaming ecosystem, and 5G SA roaming is a new frontier for this community to explore, learn together and pave the way in this new fully networked economy.”
Jason Olivieri
Jason is a Senior Manager with industry Leader Verizon in the Product, Marketing and Strategy team. He is based out of the VSIL office in Dublin, Ireland
Jason engages with cross-functional teams in Verizon to ensure 5G NSA and 5G SA roaming is a strategic initiative covering rollout planning, quality, device requirements, KPI’s and monetization/product development. With 25+ years of telecommunications experience, 18 years of which is in roaming, Jason’s experience covers all facets of roaming from networks and IT operations, through to consumer products and strategy.
Jason represents Verizon at an Industry level, attending the GSMA and IO conferences and workshops etc. for many years. Jason was appointed Chair of the 1st Innovative Operators Lab covering VoLTE roaming from 2019 through to 2022.
The 5G Roaming Lab is an IO Lab featuring discussions on Service Level Agreements, Network Slicing, Quality, IOT Negotiations, and is a sounding board for ideas. 5GRL provides a space for thought leaders to discuss innovative ways to get 5G Roaming working and investigate the new revenue streams it can bring. All while sharing experience and lessons learned.
