Announcing the 5GRL Deputy Chair: Luc Lamoureux from Reliance JIO

The 5G Roaming Lab is pleased to announce the appointment of Luc Lamoureux, Director, Global Roaming & Planning at Reliance JIO, as the new Deputy Chair. With advanced knowledge in 5G and 5G Roaming, Luc has been actively participating in the lab discussions and will now ensure that the 5GRL objectives and KPIs are developed according to the work plan.

Luc is a Roaming Veteran working in wireless since 1997. Having worked in Canada, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Bahamas and USA, Luc has a true international experience. Ending a 4-year role as WAS Deputy Chair with the GSMA, IO can now be his focus. He is PRD editor of GSMA Permanent Reference Document (PRD) BA.12 (TAP) and BA.13 (RAP) and WA.51 (5G SA Roaming Guidelines). JIO, where Luc is currently the Director, International Roaming started as a 4G only operator in 2017 and grew to serve over 400 million subscribers. JIO was also the clear winner of 5G spectrum auction in India last August and has launched 5G SA as a stand-alone network, jumping over the NSA option.

The 5G Roaming Lab is an IO Lab featuring discussions on Service Level Agreements, Networks Slices, Quality, IOT Negotiations and is a sounding board for ideas, innovative ways to get 5G Roaming working and investigate the new revenue streams it can bring.
