Announcing Nabil Baccouche from e& as a new member of the IO Executive Board

IO is pleased to welcome Nabil Baccouche, Group Chief Carrier & Wholesale Officer at e&, as a new member of the Executive Board.

Since the launch of IO in April 2021, the non-profit member organisation has focused on Roaming and Interconnect, receiving great recognition from the industry through mobile operator engagement. Roaming Projects that previously lacked focus and collaboration are now better equipped through IO labs. IO Labs has helped numerous operators to increase their awareness, be more in tune and further engage in promoting and prioritising significant roaming projects.

Nabil Baccouche

Nabil Baccouche was appointed Group Chief Carrier & Wholesale Officer of e& in September 2022.

Backed by more than 21 years of experience in the wholesale telecom industry of diversified telco and technology services experience, Nabil’s core expertise is wholesale across multiple markets. He has played an integral role in driving the various wholesale functions and building strong and long-standing strategic partnerships over the years.

Nabil started his career with e& in 2014 when he joined Etisalat Carrier & Wholesale Services as Group Vice President of International Roaming and
Mobile Services.

Prior to joining e&, Nabil was the Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East & Africa at Syniverse, a Carlyle Group Company. Before Syniverse, he held executive-level positions at Emirates International Telecommunications, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding investing in communications within the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Nabil played a key role in the company’s growth, as the Head of the Wholesale Business Unit at Tunisie Telecom as well as Belgacom International Carrier Services (BICS) in Brussels and Dubai, where he established the company’s Dubai regional office and developed BICS voice, roaming and data wholesale services.

Having established its member organisation in 2021, IO seeks to support the industry with workshops where mobile operators exchange best practices, IO trainings, and insights which assist Mobile Operators in strategic decision-making and to seek new opportunities amidst a challenging and disruptive communications environment.
