The Messaging Evolution Lab (MEL) Holds Inaugural Meeting to Discuss the Work Plan for 2024

Demonstrating the synergies between the IO Executive Board and Advisory Board, it was decided that a new Lab was needed to analyse the messaging ecosystem from an MNO perspective, the Messaging Evolution Lab (MEL).

The Messaging Evolution Lab held its first session on March 25th, marking a significant milestone for IO, expanding the Labs to the Messaging field. Led by Pablo Mlikota from e&, the lab brought together group and independent operators representatives from Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Middle-East to discuss pivotal topics shaping the messaging landscape.

During the inaugural session, the first draft of the Work Plan was presented, and participants engaged in discussions on subjects including the Messaging Business Model/Ecosystem, Impact of Fraud, A2P as a delivery technology, Messaging Ecosystem Trust, Integration of future Authentication technologies, and Future Vision of the Messaging Business.

The Messaging Evolution Lab continues to collect feedback from the IO community as it prepares for the upcoming sessions and face-to-face meeting as part of IO Plenary #06 in Seville (Spain) from May 22nd to 24th.
