IO Executive Board: New Term, New Members
The IO Executive Board was first formed in May 2022 with the mission of bringing mobile operators together to help modernise roaming. Two years later, after consolidating a solid community of operators working together in six IO Accelerator Labs, the Executive Board is entering a new term with Verizon as a new incorporation.
“We are delighted to announce the formation of our new board and the ratification of its members. The board will provide strategic guidance and oversight to our organization as we pursue our mission in driving Innovation and education within the Roaming and Interconnect industry”. Says Chair Frédéric Schepens.
The new Executive Board consists of the following members:
- Frédéric Schepens (Bayobab) Executive Board Chair
- Anneli Jennersjo Lundberg (CKH IOD) Executive Board Deputy Chair
- Anis Mbarek (Vodafone)
- Bénédicte David (Orange)
- Benoit Bertin (Bouygues Telecom)
- Brenda Carmichael (Verizon)
- Johannes Opitz (Deutsche Telekom)
- Marta Gabanska (A1 Group)
- Nabil Baccounche (e& Group)
- Najib Khan (Ooredoo)
Over the past two years, the Executive Board has been proactively working on key matters in the industry, moving towards innovation and inclusion. Remarkable achievements during this period include the creation of the Advisory Board, establishment of the Roaming Development Goals (RDGs), and compliance with industry standards for automated E2E Roaming.
The implementation of initiatives like IO.30 Accreditation Programme, IO Mobilize community tool, Roaming Automation Roadshow, IO Labs Playbooks, the first African Roaming Alliance face-to-face meeting, engagement with other industry bodies, and the kick-off of the Messaging Evolution Lab have also been significant milestones to highlight.
“Each of these members brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion to our organization. They have been elected by the general membership and have accepted their roles with enthusiasm and commitment. We are confident that they will serve our organization well and help us achieve our goals. We look forward to working with them and with you to make a positive impact in our community. I’d like to thank also Judit, who is changing roles, and Rolf, who is retiring from the Board, and have been active participants.” Says Frédéric Schepens.
Looking ahead, the IO Executive Board reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness of key industry topics while engaging in strategic discussions aimed to accelerate innovation within the operator community and the industry as a whole.
