IO Executive Board Discusses Roaming Customer Experience (CX), AI Opportunities, and Strategic Priorities for 2025 at Dubai Meeting

The IO Executive Board convened for its 10th meeting on November 18th at the e& offices in Dubai, bringing together the Advisory Board and IO Labs Chairs to review progress, explore emerging opportunities, and define priorities for the coming year.
The meeting featured comprehensive updates from IO Lab Chairs, showcasing advancements across all active labs: VoLTE Roaming Lab, 5G Roaming Lab, M2M Roaming Lab, African Roaming Alliance, Roaming Connectivity Lab, Messaging Evolution Lab, and also RoamForward, an automation subcommittee created by the Executive Board. From new technical breakthroughs to actionable insights, the board reviewed the developments from each group and provided guidance for the workstreams to be tackled in 2025.
A highlight of the meeting was a presentation by the IO Advisory Board on leveraging the potential of Artificial Intelligence in the roaming ecosystem. The session explored how AI-driven solutions could optimize operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and unlock new revenue streams, reaffirming the industry’s commitment to innovation.
The Executive Board approved the addition of new members to the Advisory Board, set to join in January. These new appointments will further enhance the expertise and capabilities of the Advisory Board, complementing the existing team of industry leaders.
Looking ahead, the board discussed strategic priorities for 2025. Key focus areas include the IO Vision for Roaming Customer Experience, and SMS fraud mitigation, amongst other initiatives which are under development and will be announced in the upcoming year.
The IO Executive Board expressed their satisfaction with the progress and achievements of IO, its labs, and plenaries, and eagerly anticipates engaging in more strategic discussions in the coming year.
